Our educational direction

Helping expertise become discoverable in the AI era

As people increasingly ask AI tools to recommend experts, businesses and services, the ability to understand and manage digital visibility is becoming a practical professional skill. Yet using AI is not the same as knowing how AI-generated answers represent your own work.

At Pensne Digital, AI & Digital Empowerment is an emerging educational direction connecting AI literacy, professional visibility, hands-on experimentation and responsible digital communication. Its purpose is to make changing AI-search concepts accessible to people from different professional backgrounds – not just marketers or developers.

Our first documented workshop in this direction was delivered with the Women in IT Vilnius community on 30 September 2026.

Building Your Visibility in the AI Era

An interactive learning session for women working across technology, consulting, design, digital services and related professional fields.

The audience

The Women in IT Vilnius event brought together professionals with backgrounds including cloud architecture, engineering management, technical writing, UX/UI, consulting and digital services. This diversity made cross-disciplinary discussion an essential part of the experience.

The central question

When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity to recommend an expert in your field, can those tools find and accurately describe you?

We focused on making that question testable – without promising any particular ranking or recommendation outcome.

Before the workshop · Slido PRE polls

They were already using AI. But many had never checked their own visibility.

Initial anonymous polling showed a gap between adoption of AI-based discovery and knowledge of how professional expertise is represented within AI-generated answers.

92%used AI often or sometimes to find experts, companies, products or services22 of 24 responses
57%had never checked their AI representation or did not know they could13 of 23 responses
56%did not know how to influence their representation in AI systems14 of 25 responses
16%said they already knew how to influence that representation4 of 25 responses
The learning opportunity: Frequent use of AI did not automatically translate into an understanding of AI visibility, practical self-assessment, or ways to improve professional discoverability.
Inside the session

From an AI recommendation to a practical next step

The workshop combined live exploration, group conversation and accessible guidance. Participants examined real questions relevant to their own expertise.

01 / DISCOVER

Test AI-powered discovery

Ask AI tools to recommend experts in participants’ professional fields. Observe which names appear, what explanations are given, and what may be missing.

02 / UNDERSTAND

Identify relevant visibility signals

Discuss clear positioning, consistent profiles, relevant external mentions, trustworthy professional content and the connections between expertise and digital footprint.

03 / ACT RESPONSIBLY

Plan realistic improvements

Translate observations into updates, checks and monitoring habits – while considering data privacy and avoiding unnecessary exposure of sensitive information.

A key discussion: greater discoverability should not mean publishing everything. The group explored how to communicate professional expertise while maintaining appropriate privacy boundaries.

Beyond one event

Building an accessible educational format

AI & Digital Empowerment connects three goals: helping people understand AI-mediated discovery, giving them the confidence to evaluate their own visibility, and supporting responsible decisions about their digital presence.

The Women in IT Vilnius workshop is a first documented example of this approach, with both anonymous poll data and independent public feedback. It offers a foundation for adapting the format to other groups – from professional associations and women’s networks to entrepreneurial and educational communities.

Potential applications

  • Practical AI and digital literacy workshops
  • Professional visibility for women and underrepresented communities
  • AI-search readiness for entrepreneurs and SMEs
  • Responsible online presence and data privacy discussions
  • Community-based, hands-on learning programmes

What comes next: future workshops can incorporate follow-up assessments to measure whether participants implement the actions they intend to take, and how useful those actions prove over time.
